This section relates to the Operations vertical of the SCF competency model. It covers manufacturing, maintenance, technical support, customer service and non-production operations.

This level 3 course is focused on Manufacturing with three main activities: Assessment, Design and Management of the production.

The learning objectives are:

1. Estimate fully a product cost from its production environment, using appropriate Work Measurement Techniques.

2. Choose  a production lay-out and production parameters (capacity, lead-times)

3. Manage the production operations so as to meet the demand and constraints (set-up times & overhead cost, labour).

Notes:

> Each simulation can be run for a maximum of 1 hour and represents a one month production schedule.

> The simulation will be available for 4 days and then the settings will change. In total, there will be 12 simulations to run, representing a full year of production schedule. The total assignment lasts 9 weeks.

This practice is based on the Supply Chain Immersive Learning Simulation (SCILS) and is aligned with the concepts of the Supply Chain Competency Framework of the Supply Chain Foundation.

Title: Supply Chain Manufacturing Planning

Learning Objectives:

Know how to choose the production environment (schedule, stock) so as to meet the expected demand, taking into account the production options (product mix, overtime), and constaints (capacity, lead-times, set-up times & cost, labour)
